All About Me

This is my 24th year teaching school.  My first 18 years, I taught at Winston Elementary.  I am excited to be returning back to Winston . I was born in Atlanta, GA and have lived in Douglas County for most of my life. I attended Bill Arp Elementary, Chapel Hill Middle School and Douglas County High School. I received my teaching degree and Masters of Education from the University of West Georgia. Besides teaching, I love being Gran Gran to my 8 marvelous grandchildren.

My mission is to challenge students to think for themselves and to develop an enduring love of learning and inquiry, a solid work ethic, and a sense of personal efficacy and responsibility.  Through my efforts, I intend for my students to seek lifelong personal growth in every arena of their lives—work, school, home, spiritual, self, and social.  I will model these attributes for my students each day as I work.  I will cultivate partnerships with the families of the students I teach, and I will strive to treat each student with respect in every interaction, showing them that I care about them on a personal level each and every day.
